• Fridges and Freezers

The NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) was set up to give owners or renters of homes and businesses in NSW a financial incentive to save energy.

The goal of the programme is to cut down on energy use in NSW, lower energy costs for consumers, and reduce the need to build new energy infrastructure. To do this, energy generators and retailers in NSW are required to buy and turn in energy savings certificates (ESCs).

Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs) indicate the amount of energy saved through a compliant energy savings activity in New South Wales.

One ESC corresponds to one megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy saved by upgrading qualified equipment.
